From rejection 😭 to... making it happen.

In 2015, I was building an online platform for startups to help them recruit talent and get access to investors.

I was recommended to pitch it to a well-known angel investor in Oslo.

So I took all my courage, my hopes and dreams and went to talk to him. 💪

Me: "Hi... Do you have a moment?"

Him: "Is it about that platform?" (I met him few months earlier when I just had the idea)

Me: "Yes, so here is the update..."

Him: "Raja, we don't need that. Raja we don't need YOU".

And he left.

And I was standing there.

He did not give me any chance. 😳

I went back home and... started crying.
😭

I called my mum. That's what we do when things are really going wrong, right?

Me: "Mama, I do so much to help startups and the investor said straight to my face we don't need you! 😭"

Her:" Raja... I am surprised it is only now that you face rejection "

Me: 🤨

Her: " When you do things differently, when you shake things up, of course not everyone will get it, not everyone will like you"

That's all I needed to hear.

1 year later, in collaboration with Danske Bank, I launched thehub.io in Norway, one of the largest online platforms helping startups access talent and investors in the Nordics.

Since then, 1000s of startups have been using the platform.

A platform which it seems... was actually much needed.
